Mobile Vet in Ivanhoe

My little fur baby is not a great car traveler, and with the current COVID climate, our vet's policy is she would have to wait in her carrier in the car at the vet prior to her appointment, so to save her anxiety levels (and mine) I decided to give First Paw a go when she needed a check over recently. I was so impressed with Laurence and his professionalism, caring nature and knowledge. He rang me from the car to get a full history on my kitty, and talked me through his process for when he came inside. I mentioned to him that our last vet told me I had very anxious kitten as she would shake and try to wriggle away from the vet every time we went. But not with Laurence, he came into the home with his friendly nature and my little one went right up to him for a sniff over and rarely left the area he was in the whole time. He gave her his full attention for more than the allotted time, left me a sample that he thought might help, and followed up a few days later to see how she was going. Overall, the whole process was so easy and convenient, I'll definitely be using Laurence & First Paw again and would highly recommend him.

Awesome service provided by veterinarian, Laurence, during the stage 4 COVID-19 lockdown. We started to notice that our border collie was having some issues related to his rear-end and our cat hat been scratching at his face near his ear. We didn't want to deal with the logistics and risk of transporting both pets and also all the additional measures required due to the lockdown at our regular clinic. We setup an online appointment via the website and Laurence arrived right at the scheduled appointment time. We did a 15-minute phone consultation before Laurence entered the property. Laurence was very thorough with the examination and also provided a full general health check on our pets. Very kind and considerate and talked us through all the examinations and provided a lot of background on what was happening, also checking in a few days later. Really lifted the bar beyond what we were used to with our other highly-rated and regarded local clinic, would definitely use the service again without hesitation.

Since the first day my old Labrador met Dr Laurence, we realized how excellent professional he is. He took the time to answer all my questions, listened to Koome history and continued a follow-up after the visit. In addition, he is sensitive friendly and nice with pet owners. So, without doubt, when my almost 16-year-old dog needed to say goodbye to us, I called Laurence to accompany Koome to the end of her beautiful life. He and the nurse were very respectful and sensitive at this difficult time. Koome slept peacefully in the best hands. He is really the best vet I met, and I recommend him 100%. I'm so glad I found this vet! Dr Laurence is an exceptional vet with a lot of empathy. He called me on arrival to discuss my pets' habits, health, medical history and general disposition. He was very friendly and and direct about information and recommendations to maintain my pets. My pets were very much at ease and vaccinations were provided easily. The whole process was great. The cost was very competitive.

Booked online, very easy and accessible to book. My cat, Bella is an adopted cat and is very stressed going to the vet. Dr Laurence took the time to get to know my concerns and explained my cats history. He also followed up and checked how she was going. Would definitely recommend.

First Paws was a fantastic experience! My staffy Marli becomes anxious around other dogs which makes seeing a vet difficult. Laurence was communicative, knowledgeable, and empathetic. He connected with Marli easily. He genuinely listened to our concerns and her history, and made helpful, insightful recommendations in order to benefit her health. Furthermore, he paid attention to her wellbeing -not just her physical health- which is imperative but can be hard to find in a vet. I highly recommend First Paws.

Despite all good reviews, our experience was not satisfactory. We chose standard health check $149 for our cat’s acne and additional cat $89 just because the vet already visited. We feel the session was too rushing and didn’t feel all our concerns were addressed. We would just think of it as for the sake of getting the cream (ilium Dermotic Ear & Skin Suspension $49). We will visit proper vet clinic next time considering it has all medical equipments as well. Besides, their enquiry email does not seem to be monitored. They didn’t reply to my email asking for the vet’s full name and registration number. It was for me to confirm the information for insurance claim. I called the receptionist and she told me she would get it replied but still no reply.

The stress of taking my kitten to the vet completely disappeared once I found Dr. Laurence, who offers home visits. The entire process was seamless—he even handled the vaccination in seconds! His expertise and advice on how to properly care for my little guy were incredibly helpful and much appreciated. Highly recommend!

Laurence was very knowledgeable and compassionate in dealing with my very nervous kitty when she had her check up. The fact that he can come to my home spares us a lot of unnecessary stress. I appreciated the extra follow up - first with some useful aftercare information and then a few days later to see that Meowy was happy and well. I'll be happy to book Laurence for future check ups and would recommend him to anyone who wants to avoid the hassle that comes with getting their reluctant pet to the vet.
