We had an amazing experience with Dr Laurence! Our poor cat was in a bad way with a very swollen face with what appeared to be an infected abscess from an injury caused by a cat or possum. Dr Laurence was very reassuring when he arrived to our home and took it one step at a time to inspect and treat our fur boy! It was so scary seeing our cat so unwell so the last thing I wanted to do was pop him in a cage to take him to the vet - it would have been even more distressing. The professionalism and empathy he showed towards myself and our cat made it clear to me that he is in the right field of work. From injections, to a shaved cheek and small procedure, temperature and weight checks - all was covered in one home visit. I take my hat off to you! Thanks for looking after our Pepi. After much searching for a mobile vet in the area, I found Laurence. Laurence was quick to respond and extremely thorough and efficient pre visit, during the visit and post visit. He diagnosed and treated Claude who has made a speedy recovery. I wouldn’t hesitate in contacting Laurence again and would recommend him.

The absolute best doctor for your baby. He was so friendly and helpful. So knowledgeable and super thorough with his diagnosis. He was so gentle to my baby girl Duri and his prices were honestly so good!! While other money hungry clinics were charging 200 dollars for a 5 min consultation, he went out of his ways to call before entering my house to ask about her temperament, her diet, her history,.. EVERYTHING!! He didn’t even mind coming into my bathroom do all the examinations because of how anxious Duri was. Literal god sent. Could not recommend more!! Soooo convenient in terms of not having to travel anywhere but also reduces the stress of being in a carrier for my cat. She got noticeably better after just two days too!! I honestly cannot thank Dr. Laurence enough- you can really tell he does this job because he actually cares! ❤️
The convenience of First Paw is next to none. My 10.5 year old Stanley dog hurt his back and was beside himself with anxiety from the pain. The last thing I wanted to do was put him in the car and take him to the vet, a place that makes him even more anxious! Finding Laurence at First Paw was my greatest discovery ever! Laurence was so calm, gentle and patient with Stanley. He took his time to assess the problem and explained everything we needed to do to achieve recovery. Stanley is back to his normal self and I couldn’t be happier with this service!
My little fur baby is not a great car traveler, and with the current COVID climate, our vet's policy is she would have to wait in her carrier in the car at the vet prior to her appointment, so to save her anxiety levels (and mine) I decided to give First Paw a go when she needed a check over recently. I was so impressed with Laurence and his professionalism, caring nature and knowledge. He rang me from the car to get a full history on my kitty, and talked me through his process for when he came inside. I mentioned to him that our last vet told me I had very anxious kitten as she would shake and try to wriggle away from the vet every time we went. But not with Laurence, he came into the home with his friendly nature and my little one went right up to him for a sniff over and rarely left the area he was in the whole time. He gave her his full attention for more than the allotted time, left me a sample that he thought might help, and followed up a few days later to see how she was going. Overall, the whole process was so easy and convenient, I'll definitely be using Laurence & First Paw again and would highly recommend him.
Laurence was great. It took him one visit to correctly diagnose and resolve an issue our regular vet had missed. He took the time to follow up after our appointment to check how the treatment was going, and the mobile aspect of his service is so much more convenient than trying to get to a clinic.

This is a fantastic service, the vet (Laurence) was great, he was very well organised and thourough. It was a much better experience having him come to us, more relaxed for us and our pets. The mobile VET was fantastic! Found this to be super convenient as we found ourselves constantly postponing getting to the VET for our cats' standard vaccinations and boosters. I was really impressed by the service from Dr Laurence. My previous mobile vet had shut down so I found First Paw Mobile through an internet search and was able to get an appointment in less than a week to undertake an annual health check for my cat. Dr Laurence conducts a quick five-minute call with you prior to entering the property so he can get background information on your pet and to identify the best way to care for it during the visit. Once inside, he was very caring with my cat, making sure he didn't do anything to cause any stress. Dr Laurence did a full check and was able to vaccinate my cat, which was great given cat vaccines are hard to come by in Australia at the moment. He also provided guidance on cat teeth cleaning (I had not been made aware of this from previous vets) and gave information and advice on how to manage and seek treatment. Five days after my visit, Dr Laurence followed up with a message to see how my cat was and if there were any issues following the vaccination. To me, this really showed the good level of service that First Paw Mobile provides to ensure your pet is safe and well. I will definitely be using First Paw Mobile going forward and would highly recommend them to anyone that is looking to use a mobile / home visit service.

What a great service, especially during lockdown! Before coming in, we had a consultation phone call where Laurence really took the time to answer all of my questions, as I’m a new pet owner. What a fantastic find. Laurence was calm, gentle and best of all at our place. Getting vaccinations for my cats was such a smooth and easy process for all of us when i didnt have to wrestle them into carriers, take them in the car and have them sit in a waiting room with strange dogs, cats and smells.

Dr Laurence was COVID SAFE, friendly and thorough. He handled Brian the cat with care and listened carefully to our concerns. He was able to drain Brian’s cyst expertly and quickly, with Brian’s comfort as high priority. We will definitely using this service again as Brian is blind and his vet stress when he has to be carted elsewhere is off the charts. When Dr Laurence came to his home, it was just an interesting experience for Brian. This was such a relief! Thank First Paw!

This was my first experience with a mobile vet, and it was amazing. We have a very nervous cat, who hates being in the carrier, even for a 5 minute drive to our regular vet. This was a much better experience for all of us. Our cat was so much more chilled about everything, and as a result, so was I. Will happily use this service again for routine vet visits.

I got my puppy during the COVID-19 distancing rules, and was pleased to find First Paw Mobile Vet could come to my house so I could be with my puppy while he got his exam and vaccination. They were diligent about wearing a mask & gloves, hand washing, keeping distance from me as much as possible, and keeping the time in my home short, to minimise risk to me and my household, as well as the community. First Paw mobile vet is a game changer! Our cat, Frida refused to go in the box to the vet, she seemed traumatised to get in - very defensive and scratchy. Dr Laurence provided a phone consult before coming in and then came over to give Frida her first check up at home. Dr Laurence provided clear instructions and helpful information to keep Frida healthy. He ensured minimal stress for Frida (and us!) and excellent customer service. Highly recommended!
Very happy with the service from First Paw. Arrived perfectly on time and admit was a first visit did a comprehensive question session getting to know my animals before meeting them. Then on meeting they were very patient and calm allowing my cats to smell and accept them before conducting the assessment and treatment. My cat isn't the fussiest but I don't drive and he is very heavy to carry, so I opted for a mobile vet. Booking is easy – you can call or book online. The person answering the phone was very friendly and helpful. First Paw was very prompt and very gentle with my cat. The check up, vaccination, and recommendations were handled super efficiently and with care. Aftercare was provided via texted links to PDFs (love this as I am swamped with emails and can't stand loose paper). Very grateful that all pandemic guidelines were followed as I live in a small space, and it made me feel very safe. Thank you, First Paw. We called on First Paw to assist us with a health check of our cat amidst the lockdown in Melbourne, when our usual vet had quite a long wait for the next available appointment. Dr Laurence was friendly and professional, arriving on time and ensuring he used Covid Safe protocols during the visit. He was extremely thorough and knowledgeable in obtaining a health history and whilst examining our cat. Our little guy can be quite skittish with strangers in our home, but Dr Laurence was excellent in keeping him calm and reassured throughout the check up. I can't recommend these guys enough! I didn't know a mobile vet service existed until a friend recommended them and I am totally sold. I have a large anxious rescue dog and going to the vet has always been a pain. Something about the rooms at the vet and all the smells freaks my dog out. The service was punctual, way more thorough than some vets I've been to, friendly, well priced and so convenient. I even got a follow up phone call to see how the prescribed treatment was progressing a few days later. Highly recommend!

First Paws was a fantastic experience! My staffy Marli becomes anxious around other dogs which makes seeing a vet difficult. Laurence was communicative, knowledgeable, and empathetic. He connected with Marli easily. He genuinely listened to our concerns and her history, and made helpful, insightful recommendations in order to benefit her health. Furthermore, he paid attention to her wellbeing -not just her physical health- which is imperative but can be hard to find in a vet. I highly recommend First Paws.

Dr. Laurence and his professional, empathetic and calming nature has become an instant friend to our two dogs. Aside from his professionalism, punctuality and amazing vet knowledge he is a naturally endearing person who made our 14 year old lab feel at ease while he thoroughly checked her out, and engaged with our children and us as if we had known him forever. The trauma of trying to get an ageing Lab with bad legs into a 4wd to go to the vet is horrible, but having Laurence come to us for a highly reasonable fee has made such a difference to us. Sadly there will come a time in the future that we will have to farewell our old girl and it brings peace of mind to my family that we have Laurence to go through this painful time with. We can't recommend him highly enough and wish we had found him sooner.

Our first visit from Dr Laurence was fantastic. We have 4 furry family members (2 dogs and 2 cats). It was so convenient having a home visit for their vaccinations especially the cats who hate being bundled into the carrier and freak out at the vet. Dr Laurence is such a natural with animals and had them all very relaxed and happy to have their check ups and shots (even the cats who normally are less than keen to be handled ). He was super patient and reassuring and very thorough checking on all aspects of their health. The trimming the nails of a cat who was less than thrilled at the prospect and normally loses it if anyone tries, was particularly appreciated. Booking was straightforward online and the cost was very reasonable. Thanks Dr Laurence - Muffy, Mojo, Callie and Andy look forward to your next visit (and the treats!). I have to say, I was very impressed with First Paw and more to the point Lawrence. I made the initial appointment and then I couldn't meet that time, but spoke with First Paw to see if I could get Lawrence out to my home and Lawrence called me and we set a time. I am always a little bit apprehensive with taking my two cats to a vet as they get incredibly scared and timid, well Lawrence was absolutely awesome with my two cats, he explained everything very clearly, was fantastic with them, and overall a wonderful experience for all. Would highly recommend good Dr Lawrence. He showed lots passion to his work and genuinely seems to care for the animal patients that he treats. Last week he looked after two Newfoundlands with routine injections. He offered lot of his time by giving very helpful advice on taking care of large breed doggos. He seems quite knowledgeable about large breed dogos and offered his valuable time to consult on their dietary requirements, teeth-care and also general health and wellbeing. Also inquired about worming and how I care for the doggos. Did not expect that sort of kindness and it is invaluable advice. Again would highly recommend good Dr Lawrence. Excellent service! The vets always take a thorough medical history before the appointment and they are super patient with nervous pets. It's also a mobile service vet which means theres no hassle for travelling in a car with you pet (my cat hates car rides). Would 10/10 recommend.

Despite all good reviews, our experience was not satisfactory. We chose standard health check $149 for our cat’s acne and additional cat $89 just because the vet already visited. We feel the session was too rushing and didn’t feel all our concerns were addressed. We would just think of it as for the sake of getting the cream (ilium Dermotic Ear & Skin Suspension $49). We will visit proper vet clinic next time considering it has all medical equipments as well. Besides, their enquiry email does not seem to be monitored. They didn’t reply to my email asking for the vet’s full name and registration number. It was for me to confirm the information for insurance claim. I called the receptionist and she told me she would get it replied but still no reply.

First Paw and Dr Laurence have been great! We booked a check up for our cat as he had a sore eye, deciding that the best option was a mobile vet as he is extremely nervous. Laurence was able to calm him down really quickly and was really thorough, juggling tests and equipment whilst keeping the cat calm and still. He gave the eye a good clean and the cat was immediately more happy afterwards, and he also prescribed a course of treatment which has completely cleared the issue up. Laurence has checked in a few times after the appointment to see how our cat is going, and has really shown that he cares and wants him to get better. I would highly recommend First Paw!

It’s been so fantastic having Laurence make home visits to my 12 year Westie Norman. Norman usually hates going to the vet and Laurence’s visits take out all of the anxiety of check/ups for him (and me). Laurence is extremely thorough and professional and works hard to put Norman at ease. Highly recommended.

I was thrilled to find a mobile pet service as I didn't want to traumatise my kitten taking him out in the cold in a taxi. Laurence was on time and very kind and friendly. He took his time to do what was needed for my kitten's first check up (since I brought him home) and booster vax. Laurence gave me lots of advice on teeth health for animals and any issues to look out for in the future. 100% recommendation.
Laurence was brilliant - being pandemic times, he made sure to limit the amount of time spent in the apartment by having a phone chat prior to coming up. Very professional, knowledgeable and super friendly, even though Roxy wasn’t the happiest after getting her vaccination, I’m sure she was very glad to avoid the car trip to the vet! Such an easy process of booking, made the whole experience wonderful.
